For Travel Advisors

Your destination partner in Colombia

Colombia's longest-standing luxury DMC member of Virtuoso. First and only Signature DMC. Over fifteen years with USTOA. AURALIS continues the operation your agency already trusts — under a name worthy of it.

The Challenge

We know exactly why Colombia is hard to sell.

The State Department advisory. The outdated perception. The client who asks 'is it safe?' The fear of recommending a destination you can't fully vouch for — and what that means for your reputation if something goes wrong.

We have heard this from advisors in every consortium we belong to. And we have spent sixteen years building the answer.

You already know your client. We know Colombia. Together, you never sell it alone.

That combination — your relationship with the traveler, our sixteen years of access inside the country — is what makes an AURALIS journey work. And what makes the recommendation one you can make with complete confidence.

What We Solve

What we solve for you

The Conversation

How to start the Colombia conversation with your client

The most common mistake advisors make with Colombia is trying to defend it. Do not defend it — reframe it.

Your client has a perception of Colombia built on headlines from thirty years ago and a Netflix series. That perception is not an objection to overcome. It is an opening.

The reframe that works

Colombia has been quietly becoming one of the most extraordinary destinations in the world — while everyone else was looking elsewhere. The clients who go now arrive before the crowds. That window does not stay open forever.

That is not a sales pitch. That is the truth. And it works because sophisticated travelers respond to exclusivity and timing — not to reassurance.

For the client who asks about safety

The Colombia we operate in — Cartagena, Medellin, Bogota, the Coffee Region, Santa Marta — is a different country from the one in the headlines. Our operator has been there for sixteen years. They know every property, every transfer, every guide personally. Your clients travel privately, point to point, with people who know them by name from the moment they land.

That answer works because it does not dismiss the concern — it replaces it with something concrete. A person. A standard. A promise.

For the client who has been everywhere

Tell me — have they found El Dorado yet?

Then tell them the story of Aurum. Gold that obsessed the conquistadors for centuries. A country they never fully found. And an operator who knows exactly where it is.

One conversation with Camilo before you pitch Colombia to your client is all it takes. He will give you everything you need to close it.

How We Work

How we work

AURALIS is a Destination Management Company. We operate exclusively in Colombia. We do not sell directly to the public.

Every journey we design comes through a travel advisor. That is not a formality — it is how we are built. Your client trusts you. You trust us. We make sure that trust is earned.

Commission

Your commission is protected. Always.

We work on net rates. You add your margin. There are no exceptions, no direct solicitations to your clients, and no ambiguity about who owns the relationship.

Getting Started

What we need from you to start

Not a form. A conversation.

Tell us who your client is — what they have already experienced, what they are looking for, what they will not tolerate, and what would make this trip the one they describe for the rest of their lives.

From that conversation, we design a journey. Every element — hotels, guides, access, timing, pace — is chosen for this specific traveler. Not adapted from a standard program. Designed from scratch.

Response time

Within 24 hours for standard inquiries. Same day for last-minute requests — we treat those as absolute priority.

FAQ

Questions your clients will ask — and how to answer them

Is Colombia safe?

The Colombia your clients will visit — Cartagena, Medellin, Bogota, the Coffee Region, Santa Marta — has a safety profile comparable to other major Latin American destinations your clients already visit confidently. The U.S. State Department Level 3 advisory applies broadly to the country and includes regions your clients will never be near. Every AURALIS journey uses private transfers, pre-vetted properties, and guides with years of relationship with our team. In sixteen years of operation, we have never had a serious safety incident with a client.

What airlines fly to Colombia from the United States?

American Airlines, United, Delta, JetBlue, and Avianca all operate direct flights to Bogota, Medellin, and Cartagena from Miami, New York, Atlanta, Houston, Fort Lauderdale, and Orlando. Bogota is under 3 hours from Miami and under 5 hours from New York. Internal connections between Colombian cities are frequent and reliable — most under 90 minutes.

Do U.S. citizens need a visa?

No. U.S. and Canadian citizens do not require a visa to enter Colombia for tourism stays of up to 90 days. Entry requires only a valid passport.

What is the best time of year to visit?

Colombia does not have a single season — it has microclimates by region. December through April is the dry season on the Caribbean Coast and in Bogota. June through August is another dry window. Medellin is mild year-round. The Coffee Region has two harvest seasons that add a layer of experience. AURALIS designs every itinerary around the right timing for each destination and each traveler.

What is the currency and is it easy to use?

The Colombian peso. For AURALIS clients, this is largely irrelevant — all services are pre-paid and managed by our team. Clients carry minimal cash. Major credit cards are accepted at all properties we work with.

How does Colombia compare to other luxury destinations in Latin America?

There is no direct comparison. Peru has Machu Picchu. Costa Rica has its rainforest. Colombia has six completely different natural regions, five centuries of layered history, one of the most serious gastronomic scenes in Latin America, and a cultural renaissance that is still happening in real time. The clients who go to Colombia through AURALIS consistently describe it as the most unexpected destination they have visited — which, for a traveler who has been everywhere, is the highest possible compliment.
